play date.

This past weekend we went out to visit my good friend Sarah and her family in Leesburg for a play date.  I FINALLY was able to meet her sweet son Gavin, who is adorable.  Her daughter Taylor is the cutest thing and such a grown up, or as Sarah likes to say "three going on 16".  Logan had a wonderful time playing with Taylor & Gavin and bouncing on their bouncy castle.  As for me and Mikey, it was great being able to catch up with Sarah and her husband Matt.  Hopefully it won't be another 10 months before we see each other again!

children's museum.

I have been wanting to visit the Children's Museum at Port Discovery in Baltimore for a while now and this past Thursday we finally went.  My Mom was brave enough to join us, which I am very thankful for since I don't think I could've done it on my own.  Logan went crazy running from one exhibit to the next.  I was worried that there wouldn't be much for a 21 month old to do, but I did not need to worry.  He loved the VW bug, Wizard of Oz exhibit, the tiny tots play area, and of course the water works exhibit.  I had looked on the website ahead of time and came prepared by bringing a change of dry clothes which were much needed.  My only advice if you are going to let your kid play in the water works area is to do it last!  Even though they provide a raincoat and crocs, Logan was absolutely drenched!  That kid just LOVES anything to do with water.  Overall, we had a great time (minus the melt-down Logan had because we were leaving) and will definitely be going back.

cupcakes.

I baked cupcakes and thought I'd let Logan try his hand at decorating them.  Yea, all he wanted to do was stick his finger in the cupcakes and eat the icing and sprinkles.  I guess we don't have a future baker in the family.

love some bunny.

This past weekend we took Logan to the animal shelter in Shirlington to play with the animals.  February is adopt a bunny month and Logan loved looking at the rabbits.  When you ask him what a bunny says he makes a clicking noise with his mouth and scrunches up his nose, which is too cute.  We also went to go check out the adorable dogs and cats at the shelter.  There were so many animals that I wanted to adopt, maybe some day when we have a yard we will get a pet....maybe ;)   Animal Welfare League of Arlington

antarctica.

It's hard to believe that a year ago Mikey and I were off on our "babymoon" to South America and Antarctica.  Thanks to my wonderful Dad, we were able to take this trip of a lifetime, and it really was. We had such an amazing time and made memories and friendships that will last forever.

Buenos Aries & Ushuaia, Argentina.

7 continents for me....3 for Mikey :)
Polar Plunge!

painting.

I have had my reservations with allowing Logan to paint because he is such a boy and I didn't feel like spending hours scrubbing paint off of the floor and any other surface he might get his hands on.  But after a motivational talk with my sister-in-law I decided to face the unknown and unleash the paints.  Logan had a blast and he did really well with keeping the paint on the paper.  We will definitely be doing this again, a great activity for those winter months.

winter days.

With the cold weather here and in full force I have taken to searching pinterest for indoor activities to do with Logan.  I found this super cute idea to have ice cube sailboat races in the bathtub.  I think it was a big hit with the Logster.

planes, trains & automobiles.

Logan has recently become OBSESSED with cars, trucks, buses...basically anything with wheels.  We will be driving in the car and he has to shout and point out every truck or bus that passes by.  He has learned to say the words "car & bus" although "truck" is still posing a bit of a problem for him :)  Since he is so excited about transportation we decided to get him some new sheets for his big boy bed.  Needless to say he is in love, I wonder how long he stays awake at night pointing out the different modes of transportation to himself :)  On a weekend trip to Ikea, we finally bought him a train track set (for only $9.99!) for his name train that we gave him at Christmas and it is now his favorite toy to play with.  He didn't even want to eat lunch! which is saying something for this boy.

happy birthday brielle.

This past weekend we helped our good friends Ryan and Meghan celebrate their sweet daughter Brielle's frist birthday. It was so good to spend some time with our friends and Logan had a great time playing with all the kids. He was especially attached to Brielle's toy school bus, looks like we know what we'll be getting him for his birthday. Mikey & Logan really enjoyed playing with Ryan and Meg's nephew Colin. I think we caught a glimpse to the "future Logan" while watching Colin, him and Logan seem so similar  :) Happy birthday to such a happy girl!

cousins.

Logan loves to play with his cousins.  He is a little bully around Maggie so we have to watch those two but he loves to run around with Avery & Winnie.  The last time we were in Morgantown we had a great play date at Dorsey's Knob with our good friends Kate & her daughter Presley, and Tiffany & her nephew's Dominick & Vaughn.  All the kids had lots of fun playing on the new playground and hiking up the mountain, until Logan bit poor Presley's hand, I swear that boy....does anyone else have a biter in their family!?!  Here's a couple photo's from the day.

Leave it to this kid to find the only free standing water in the park....
