2 year old family photo shoot.

We are so blessed to have such amazing friends. Katie Smith at Katie Smith Photography took some wonderful photos of us as a family right after Logan's birthday. We met at our good friends Meghan and Ryan's house (Katie is Meghan's sister) so that Logan and their adorable daughter Brielle could have a play date. They live in a beautiful new development in Leesburg that backs to some really cool woods and surrounding fields. Logan did pretty well during the shoot. He had to have a car in each hand of course and we bribed him with crackers, but overall Katie did a wonderful job and we couldn't be happier with the pictures. Thank you so much Katie for capturing our family so beautifully, you're the best!

The big 3-0 and Logan's 2nd Birthday

Somewhere in the mix of all these changes came mine and Logan's birthdays. Our birthdays fall only a week apart from each other, which essentially means we will celebrate Logan's birthday and I will get a couple high fives and well wishes at his party :) Although, if we're being honest who really cares about their birthday after they turn 21 anyways. As my Dad so poignantly put on my 21st birthday card "it's all down hill from here" or something to that letter. Since this year was a special one for me (turning 30) and we were in desperate need of a vacation, Mikey planned an amazing getaway for a week with some of our friends to Key West, FL to celebrate. The trip was just what we needed. We had a blast with our friends and enjoyed soaking up the sun and our "Moscow Mules"(Vodka, Ginger Beer and Lime...soooo good!)which quickly became our drink of the week. After we came back from our trip we celebrated our baby boy turning 2! We had a small family get together for him at our condo in Arlington and then had another get together with friends and Mikey's side of the family in Morgantown. I think Logan enjoyed both parties equally and even threw his first "2 year old temper tantrum" at the end of his party in Morgantown, that was super fun.... Overall, we are extremely blessed to have such amazing family and friends to share these moments in life with. Praise the Lord! :)

reading.

Mikey is a wonderful Daddy to Logan. He bought Logan this book "Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site" and it quickly became our nightly go-to book that Logan cannot get enough of. We now have this book memorized (and Logan does too!) but it never gets old. All of you with little boys, this book is a must have! I snapped a few pictures of Logan and Daddy reading together, so sweet it melts my heart!

On April 11th my sister-in-law, Katie, and her husband Erik welcomed their fourth beautiful baby girl into this world. Miss Riley Jo is so precious and adorable. Her big sisters were so excited to finally meet their youngest sibling. Congratulations Katie and Erik on your new addition! God Bless!

farewell to cnmc

So, where to start? I guess where we left off. I went back to work at Children's in mid-February of 2013. It was with mixed emotions that I returned to work after everything that had happened with Devan. But mostly I was happy to be among my co-workers and friends who supported our family through one of the hardest trials God has put to us to date. I am so thankful for them and am blessed to have them in our lives. Even though working at Children's was one of my pride and joys in life, Mikey and I were ready for a change. So in May I accepted a position at West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, WV (our old college stomping ground and hometown for Mikey) as a Clinical Dietitian. It was extremely hard to leave everyone at Children's but after lots of tears and well wishes I left my first and only job (as a Dietitian) which I had been at for 7+ years. I will forever be grateful for the life lessons, friendships and experiences that I gained working there. Children's National Medical Center will always hold a special place in my heart. Now it was time for the big Move!

World's Worst Blogger!

Shame, Shame....I am most definitely the Worlds Worst Blogger. New Years Resolution (starting in late April mind you) is to be more active on my blog. So starting now I will aim to post something at least once a week, or maybe once every 2-3 weeks (baby steps!) Now to catch up on the past 15 months.....here goes!!!
