australia - sydney.

This past March we were lucky enough to make a 2 week trip to Australia for my friend Cindy's wedding. We had some hesitations about going, especially the travel time with a 2 year old, but I am so glad that we went! We left from Pittsburgh and flew to LA for our connecting flight to Sydney. The flight from Pittsburgh to LA is about 4 1/2 hours and Logan did really well. We met my Dad, sisters Krista and Katie, and Krista's husband Brett in LA. The flight from LA to Sydney is a 15 hour flight and Logan slept through about 7 hours of it. Since we departed late at night that really helped him sleep. Overall he did really well travelling and Mikey and I were so proud of our big boy. We arrived in Sydney around 8am local time. We got a rental car, which was a gigantic van (Logan of course was in heaven) and checked into our hotel. Since we were trying to acclimate ourselves to the time change we all headed out to do some sightseeing of the Sydney harbour and take some pictures of the famous Sydney Opera House and Bridge. We were all pretty exhausted but we soldiered on until about 6pm when we finally all said goodnight! As my brother-in-law Brett said "I don't think I have ever gone to bed in broad daylight before." We finally became accustomed to the time change after a couple days. We were in Sydney for 3 days. Some highlights of Sydney were our trip to the Sydney zoo, going to dinner with Cindy and Danny, soaking up some sun (& shark helicopters) on Bondi Beach,"Flat Whites!"(Australia has the BEST coffee) and going to dinner at the Sydney Tower revolving restaurant with our good friends Anthea and Brendon who we met on our trip to Antarctica 2 years ago (small world!).
